LM-20 Lead-Free Boundary Self-Lubricating Bushings

Low-carbon steel + Copper powder + PTFE/Fiber

The LM-20 material is a three-layer composite self-lubricating material with a surface layer of PTFE-modified polyacetal plastic. As a benign boundary lubricant, it is particularly suitable for friction components such as bearings, thrust washers, sliders, and ball seats that undergo rotational or oscillating motion under high loads and low speeds, or that frequently open and close under load without forming fluid dynamic lubrication. LM-20 can fully utilize trace amounts of grease, enabling long-term operation without oil replenishment under boundary lubrication conditions. Under completely oil-free lubrication, LM-20 exhibits low friction performance and permissible PV values. Therefore, oil pockets are typically rolled into the plastic surface, and lithium-based grease or silicone grease is applied during assembly.
